Cherry. Truffle. Silky.

Hare Hunter Pinot Noir represents a long-held passion project — a commitment to crafting an elegant, cool-climate Pinot Noir from our estate single vineyard in the Eden Valley.

Our Pinot vines were planted in 2012, carefully positioned in the three coldest and rockiest sites across the vineyard. These challenging conditions naturally limit yield while encouraging purity, structure and finesse — hallmarks of refined Pinot Noir.

The name Hare Hunter draws from a family story. Hare hunting has long been a favourite pastime for our grandsons, though the Pinot block proved elusive for years. Coincidentally, in the year of our first Pinot release, they finally claimed their first hares — three in total — with only a handful added since. The hunt continues, much like our pursuit of ever-greater Pinot expression.

Bright and expressive in the glass, the wine opens with ripe red fruit aromas, subtle French oak and an earthy white truffle undercurrent. The palate unfolds with layers of cranberry, cherry and plum, supported by savoury earth notes, fine oak integration and long, caressing silk-like tannins. Decanting enhances structure and grip, revealing lighter strawberry and blueberry nuances.

An elegant, expressive Pinot Noir with depth, balance and a beautifully long finish.
